CATSKILL―Country music is coming back to Greene County with another toe-tapping, boot-stomping live concert on the Hudson River.
The third annual Concert in the Catskills will feature LOCASH and special guest Kylie Morgan on Saturday, June 14 at the Historic Catskill Point.
“This year, the line up of LOCASH and Kylie Morgan should continue the history of great country recording artists performing in Greene County,” said Concert Director Jim Miller.
Named “country music's iconic feel-good duo” by PEOPLE magazine, LOCASH―Preston Brust and Chris Lucas―are known for platinum breakout “I Love This Life” and gold number ones “One Big Country Song” and “I Know Somebody.”
They have earned eight charting singles, two successful albums, and over a billion global streams, and hold a history of nods from the genre’s biggest awards shows since launching in 2015.
Now, they are adding a new dimension to their hitmaking career with the launch of their own record label, Galaxy Label Group. With distribution by BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, LOCASH will continue “hitting homers and serving up first-class songs,” as hailed by American Songwriter. Fresh music is expected to be released this spring and this new era follows back-to-back high-profile collaborations “Let It Slide” with Leslie Jordan, Blanco Brown and LOCASH, and “Beach Boys” featuring The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston.
Kylie Morgan has quickly proven herself to be a relatable storyteller and an engaging live performer. The Oklahoma native is known for baring her soul in her confessional lyrics and leaving her heart on the stage.
At 14, she began touring full-time and hasn’t slowed down, checking off bucket-list appearances including her Grand Ole Opry debut and a successful first-ever headlining tour. She hit the road with Old Dominion for her first arena trek on the band’s No Bad Vibes Tour and also recently wrapped tours with Walker Hayes and Parker McCollum. The CMT Music Awards-nominated “If He Wanted To, He Would” hit country radio’s Top 40 and helped set the stage for her debut album Making It Up As I Go. Resonating with fans, her music has amassed over 400 million streams.
“Coming back home and putting on a concert is a perfect way to give back to the community that I grew up in,” said Miller, a Round Top native.
“I can’t thank our local sponsors enough,” he added. “Without their support we wouldn't be able to put this show on.”
Sponsors include The Bank of Greene County, Frisbee Agency, RC Lacy, National Bank of Coxsackie, Albany Med Health System, P. Schneider & Associates PLLC, Catskill Dental Care, Big Top Tent Rentals, Mid-Hudson Cable, Shook Insurance Agency, Excel Physical Therapy, Swifty’s, Kingston Nissan, Sawyer Chevrolet, Mental Health America of Dutchess County, Stoli, Jack Daniels, and High Noon Sun Sips.
“We are thrilled to welcome back live country music to Greene County for another great country concert and be able to showcase the Historic Catskill Point,” said Patty Austin, director of Greene County Tourism.
“The past two years were a great success and the residents of Greene and Columbia Counties and the Hudson Valley continue to come out to support the concert and listen to great music at a beautiful venue with views of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountain range,” Austin said.
Past acts at the venue have included Michael Ray, Spencer Crandall, Jackson Dean and Alana Springsteen.
“I am looking forward to seeing this concert continue to grow in the coming years and having a large crowd of concert attendees this June,” Miller said.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 14 at 10 a.m. at concertinthecatskills.com. The cost is $40 for general admission, $65 for pit and $90 for VIP. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the concert scheduled for 8 p.m.
